Well, that was quick - 2nd week of Tales of Wind
Wow, I hit the grind wall pretty quick there.
As it turned out, once gear has been enhanced to +6, there's a chance of enhancement failure, and the failure rate gets higher and higher as we go up the ladder. Not only that, but the dungeons that drop the items are nearly impossible with AI, as the higher level dungeons start implementing gimmicks that requires AI to move out of the red circle of death. But AI is dumb and will stand in the circle forever, making completion extremely difficult. Unless one is willing to spend hours and hours and hours waiting for a party of non-AI members, the only real solution is to be so over-leveled that one can tank the boss and solo the dungeon. (I've seen some people who managed to coax the AI into following them to stand in the correct spots, but it doesn't seem to work with my characters.)
This...is starting to get a bit annoying.
For me, the most engaging aspect of this game is farming. Literally tending to the in-game farm and managing my produce is far more engaging than the constant leveling. I'm seriously considering ditching Tales of Wind at this point. And yet, because I've sunk time into my character, I'm reluctant to give it up so quickly. (MMOs should not only last 2 weeks before the grind wall hits.)
The other reason I'm seriously considering ditching Tales of Wind is because of timed events. Timed events are one of the reasons I ditched GW2, and it's the same reason that I'm growing tired of Tales of Wind. I don't know why MMOs are so enamored with timed events, but they are the worst gimmicks ever and I hate them. Forcing players to play at the game's schedule rather than on their own time is so, so annoying.
(...OTHO, maybe switching servers will fit my schedule better? But having to start a whole new character is also really annoying.)
Meh, phone games, this is about the expected level of engagement, honestly. I'm seriously tempted to uninstall Bluestacks again, partly because I have a good sense of how Bluestacks 5 beta functions now, and partly because now that I've hit the grind wall, my desire to keep going has dropped off.

Like one of the merge type games like Merge Magic and its ilk? Those often have a central garden where you raise sprites and they gather stuff from stuff. Or I'm sure there's more modern equivalents of farmville.

I don't know what I want. I like the leveling and the over world quests, but I think I want a more traditional JRPG experience than the Western MMO. I'm testing out Another Eden to see if I like that better. =.=
Currently am also running AFK Arena, which is nice in how little time it's demanding from me. I go AFK and the game keeps leveling my characters, so when I come back I can progress a little more. It's a pretty standard gacha, but I like that it takes out the energy system.
