Watching a bunch of PVs between small down times
I'm editing papers again, so I've been watching in short bursts. This is really just a more note to self thing because I like to categorize my preferences. Anyway.
Obsession:
Would be obsessed with if not for previous category:
I like their vibes and would like to learn more:
These guys are ridiculous and I love them for it, do not touch them, miHoyo, they are perfectly precious as they are, if you hurt them I will cut you:
I like them as long as they stay part of the secondary cast:
Make these guys go away 🤮:
I don't know these characters but the game is trying too hard to make me like them and now I resent them taking up developer resources:
Conclusion: I definitely have a type.

For Dr. Ratio and Argenti, which VA are you listening to? If EN, is this the old Argenti VA or the new one? Cuz they switched VA on him and lots of people can't get used to the new one.
In that last category, half of these are Impact 3rd expies. Most of them, especially the starting game ones, are there to advertise the game when it first came out.
I see 3 of the Stellaron Hunters made it onto your dislike list. (Same here, BTW.) Now wondering where you'll put Firefly once you get to her.
If you dislike Robin, do you also dislike Sunday?

Angsty light-haired characters who are defiant of the shitty hand dealt to them by fate and clawed their way into positions of power. Despite facing the absolute shittiest of circumstances, still managed to hold onto their humanity and have ambition of doing even bigger things. Also takes an active role in pursuing the outcome they want rather than having to be dragged into action.
I'm listening to JP voice.
Ah, I see. That explains many things. God I hate expies.
I've looked at Firefly and don't know where to put her, honestly. I don't hate her, but I don't feel an immediate liking for her, either. I have the distinct feeling she might tie into March 7th's backstory (because of the eyes) but it's more of a wait and see but not very excited over the whole thing.
Is Sunday playable?! But also I hate Sunday because I hate pseudo-philosophical villains. He like...annoyed me the first time I set eyes on him, but I didn't even think he was on the considerations list, since, again, villain.
To reiterate, hate Sunday. Hate him more than Robin. Robin just rubs me wrong with her personality, Sunday makes me want do bad things to developers.

Hm... interesting. I've always felt that Jing Yuan's methodology is more reactive than proactive. Kinda like that saying... uh... 以不变应万变?
Sunday is leaked to become playable in a future patch, probably 2.7-ish? A lot of people are looking forward to him, and it's rumored that he's going to be joining either the Stellaron Hunters or the Astral Express. I don't like him all that much either, but oh well.

Jing Yuan might take a general strategy of wait and let the enemy reveal their hand first, but in terms of life goals, Jing Yuan is pretty active about forging his own path. Instead of accepting a cushy life in 地衡司 per his parents' desires, he went off to join the Cloud Knights, where none of his family's connections could benefit him. He made a name for himself by actively pursuing methods that would result in the least amount of direct confrontations, a strategy that the game lore has stated to garner him a lot of haters, but it's effective and also gained him attention from the higher ups. He lured Dan Heng back to Luofu to set up a situation where he forced Dan Heng to help instead of relying on Dan Heng volunteering his help out of the goodness of his heart.
So I think over all, JY has been trying to forge his own destiny, even when his friends have either died or abandoned him. Obviously he isn't the type to throw all responsibilities out the window in pursuit of his own wants, but he's not going to just give up his goals simply because of the political limitations. He's been struggling to keep the people he care about safe or free as much as his position allows, constantly pushing at the boundaries of what's acceptable, hence why he's made so many political enemies, if 飞霄's words are to be believed.
There's a strong edge under JY's easy going exterior that seems to be ignored by a lot of fandom.
OMG why?! He's so annoying!!!

Maybe it's the bad boy thing that makes people like the Stellaron Hunters and wish for playable Borisin?

OK, I gotta ask because I keep seeing this, WTF does XP mean? I know it's not experience points given the way it's used but I can't figure out which words those two letters are meant to represent.
Some people just like psychos. I don't even know. Like the amount of fans who like psychotic villains (not even hot psychotic villains, just straight up evil shits) is scary. Then again, given that IRL there are fans of serial killers and fangirls sent high profile killers erotic fan mail, I'm just not gonna try to understand the mentality anymore.

Sunday isn't an outright psycho though... He doesn't even really have that much of a sob story (especially compared to others). He's just...angsty, which I guess is a type that people like? And he's preachy...and, I guess some people like his philosophy? *shrug* iono

Anyone not on the list get sorted into the category of undecided or "could care less".

LOL @ "gameplay makes up for a lot" XD
Would actually be interested in knowing why you're into Dan Heng, because I found him super boring.

Jing Yuan would've been up there, but his gameplay dragged him down. -_-

Hm... Maybe I should look into the Belobog arc and see if I can find Dan Heng interesting. Clearly the Luofu arc did him no favors.
Yeah, I was pretty bummed to hear that JY sucked gameplay wise. Like, he just didn't feel fun to use, which is a real gut-punch when his character (plot-wise) is so insanely badass.

See, this is the reason why I feel like I need to play the game to fully grasp the characters...
