Official U.S. presidential election scream post
Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020 11:16Will be updating this thing as election day drags on. I've got election tracker ticking away, I'm scouring r/politics every hour or so, and in the middle of all of this, I'm also trying to write NaNo. LOL.
(⊙x⊙;)
So...yeah. I'm just gonna leave this here as the world turns either towards destruction or recovery. We'll see where this day leaves us.
Oh, and for all the internationals out there who think the U.S. presidential election is somehow not going to affect them: You live in a fantasy land. The U.S.A. is a superpower. You think everything going wrong in your country is only because of local politics? No, it's because the Americans allowed Trump to become president. This will suck for you as much as it sucks for those of us in this shit hole country.
If there is one thing you can count on, it's that whatever the Americans have to go through, they'll make sure it affects you, too.
Cheerio. o( ̄▽ ̄)ブ
Noon: Oh man, so many voter suppression tactics at work. Robo calling telling people not to work, fake texts telling people to vote opposite their intended because of a false "scantron problem", threatening "poll watchers" who try to intimidate potential Biden voters. Republicans are just outright cheating at this point.
3:22pm: Historic voter turn outs in so, so many states. Florida, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, etc. etc. etc. I know there's this belief that with greater turnout comes greater Democratic voters, but what if it's all Trump voters who are showing up because they're not afraid of dying of COVID-19? 🥶 The nail-biting continues...
6:00pm: Indiana and Kentucky have closed their polls. The nerves are ratcheting up. What are the results? WHY AREN'T THE NUMBERS POSTED YET AUGH?!
6:50pm: The mythical blue Kentucky! Well, it was a fine 30 minutes of amusement watching everyone making jokes about Bleutucky. LoL. Bye bye Bleutucky, we hardly knew ye.
8:20pm: Fuck you, Florida. How many times do you have to fuck over this country?
8:45pm: Texas flip-flopping is giving me vertigo. Michigan is red...again. WTF do you mean Detroit is red?! Did everyone suddenly forget COVID-19 deaths from April?
9:28pm: Detroit back to blue, thank goodness. Unfortunately, it's a tiny circle of blue surrounded by red. Fuck. Also, how are all the news sites calling everything differently. WTF is this swing? Also, continue to fuck off, Florida.
11:43pm: Yeah, you know what? I need to tuck in for the night. Hopefully by tomorrow morning most of the votes would have been counted and Trump hasn't declared himself the winner. Ugh, just the thought of the legal battles once we get into the absentee ballots makes me want to bash my head into a wall. G'nite y'all.
Day 2
9:15am: Come on Michigan, you can flip this. Trump <20k lead and there's still 700k uncounted, predominantly democrat votes. 🤞 Meanwhile, Pennsylvania is giving me heart burn. Ugh.
9:21am: MICHIGAN IS BLUE, FUCK YEAH!
2:28pm: Finally, Wisconsin has been called! Biden wins 10 more votes. Only 22 until 270. This nightmare is almost about to end.
7:03pm: Michigan finally called for Biden. Biden only needs one more state. Please no stupid surprises come tomorrow. I'm checking out tonight.
Day 3
11:50pm: GDI, Georgia. Are you fucking with me?
Day 4
9:40am: GEORGIA AND PENNSYLVANIA FLIPPED BLUE! Break out the Champaign everyone! Biden has this! W005!
10:19am: Vox just called the election for Biden! It finally ended! We're done! I can get out of this election news hell! *falls over exhausted*

Date: 2020-11-06 17:56 (UTC)I doubt my vote matter much since CA is always gonna be blue. But you can be proud for helping flip Michigan?

Date: 2020-11-06 17:59 (UTC)I can't vote. Like, legally, I'm not a citizen yet. I'm just at the whims of the people who can vote.
Also, no, your vote definitely still matters in CA. It's why they're able to call CA so early instead of it becoming an electoral hell that MI is.
