Because it's really not fair to lump a $15 student fountain pen in the same category as a $4000 e-peen (is it still e-peen if it exists in the meat world?) show-off pen.
Luxury items are never "worth it". That's why people should just admit and say "No, it's not worth it. You're buying it to show off, not because it's economical. That's literally the definition of luxury." And just leave it at that.
