Actually, it's a toss up between sports fandom vs gamer fandom, but I put sports fans as the worst, because at least gaming fans seem to recognize the gamers are customers and game companies are a business and the developers are not the same as the company, while sports fans fail to understand that fútbol clubs are companies that are monetizing their interest and that athletes are workers, not company owners.

Anyway, as much as the video game environment is hostile to women, at least the environment makes it not OK to out-right endorse rape. Like, gamergate human filth (trolls is too light of a word for those horrible creatures) at least recognize they can't out right say rape is OK, so they'll try to twist their words until it makes it sound like that's not what they're endorsing on the surface. Meanwhile, sports fans can declare that an athlete isn't a rapist so long as he's playing for their club and...no one fucking bats an eyelash.

I just...ech. Can Messi retire soon so I can finally stop following club fútbol, go back to enjoying international fútbol and return to a state of not giving a shit? I liked it better when I didn't have to listen to club fans spewing their bullshit ideology day in and day out.

I hate pro sports so much.

In other news, burying myself in books to avoid stupid fandoms. Books will never betray me...right? (I try not to read stuff from authors who are still alive. Less drama that way.)
