Oh, Republican senators are shocked, shocked I tell you, that fomenting violent insurrection begets actual violent insurrection. 🙄

Of course, there's also the ironic (?) optics that the police and national guard will violently suppress peaceful protestors who are demanding rights for disadvantaged minorities, but when they get news that actual fascists are organizing to "protest", then it's time to worry about police brutality and only send in unarmed forces to deal with AK-47 toting nutjobs. What could possibly go wrong, amirite?

All my sympathies to the D.C. residents who have been historically disenfranchised and should not have to deal with this on top of everything else they've been put through. But fuck the Republicans. You reap what you sow.
