The PS4 might be worse than other consoles, but if you have an infestation - which might not depend on your own personal cleanliness but that of your neighbors! - they'll shelter in any place that's even remotely suitable. Under the fridge, in your cable box, inside your surge protectors....

Having vents that are large enough for roaches to crawl through is a design problem that should probably be addressed nonetheless. In fact, all electronics should be designed with bug-proofing in mind. It's like finding a beehive inside the server casing (an incident from a support ticket a friend had to deal with), these things could have been avoided if designers of hardware just remembered insects existed and are numerous and are attracted to the warm, dark caverns of electronics and therefore need to be actively blocked out.

(Sidenote: Cockroaches might not have anything to do with personal hygiene. There's over 4000 species of roaches, not all of them are attracted to human waste. Some of them just want to live in the dead tree that makes up the house. It doesn't make short-circuited insects any less disgusting.)
