200 Black Pearls get!
Feelings regarding Sorceress, the newest class in BDM: Meh.
In theory, the Sorceress has tons of CC, dodge, and i-frames, so should be very good in PvP. But since I mostly focus on PvE and farming more stuff while progressing the story, PvP ranking leaves me cold. And when it comes to PvE, the Sorceress lacks the necessary self-heal to reach sustainable levels In order to level the Sorceress, you'll need to keep her supplied with a constant influx of healing potions. And healing potions don't come cheap. (Even at discounted price of 475 silver, needing 1k potions just to get through the story quests is...no.) Also, since PvE bosses cheat and don't get affected by CC, damage and sustain are the skills that will get you through to the end and the Sorceress lacks in both.
In terms of leveling, because I wanted to get to level 50 as quickly as possible, I used every skill book that dropped immediately. Once I hit level 49, I couldn't progress in the story without adding significant investments into the equipment. Instead of pouring more resources into the equipment, I sold off all of her skill books, extra accessories from the story quest rewards, and started fishing. The reason? Because killing mobs gives pathetic amounts of XP in this game. It's all about doing quests and practicing life skills. A mob that's 300CP higher than my CP nets me less than 0.01% experience needed for leveling. A successful fishing attempt nets me ~0.35% of the experience needed reach the next level. Putting her on AFK fishing for 2 hours got me ~20% through 49-to-50 grind. In the same time, I could probably complete three story quests while quaffing about 800 potions and achieve the same amount of experience. (Quest take significantly longer to complete the higher the level.) In other words, I AFK fished for the final push towards level 50 due to the fact that I was burning through 200+ healing potions when trying to get through a single main quest. Even actively managing her dodges and i-frames didn't really save me that much on potions' fees.
So. I'm definitely not going to keep the Sorceress for much longer. Currently, I'm saving up to get enough money to quickly gear a secondary character and then I'm deleting the Sorceress to make room for a different class. I'm curious about Ranger, which is supposed to be an Uber-tier class that's fairly easy to learn, has a high skill ceiling, basically unbeatable in PvP, and runs Bosses like a boss. After the Ranger, I'll probably look into either a Valkyrie or wait for new classes, as I hear the Tamer is also quite good and pretty ridiculous. Plus, I like how the Tamer looks. But Tamer will probably take a while to come to being, so I'll probably work on the Ranger in the meantime and fund her gear with the Witch.
