Man, I feel like I should have something to say about Maradona's passing but...24 hours later and I've still got bupkis.

The man was mostly myth and his real achievements were greatly exaggerated, his real flaws doubly so. On the other hand, Argentina is holding three days of mourning. The world is kinda nuts.

I guess I'm feeling a little...lost? Ambivalent? Unsure?

Weird. I'll go with weird.

2020 has been a shitty year with a shitty amount of deaths. Grant Imahara, Kobe Bryant, Chadwick Boseman, Sean Connery, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Alex Trebek, now Maradona, and those are just the ones that touched my social spheres. Here's a ridiculously long list of celebrities that have died this year.

I mean, yeah, a lot of people die all the time across the world and a lot of them famous. I guess the COVID-19 dumpster fire just made all the deaths feel that much more weighty in light of a truly miserable calendar year wherein disaster followed disaster followed disaster.
