cashew | Euro 2021 - Germany v. France

Wow. I hate Mbappé hype. I'm so done with Mbappé hype. He's not even the best player on France, let alone in the world. Griezmann, Benzema, Pogba, Kanté, Varane are all significantly better players. And if you can't see how much better those players are than Mbappé, you're blind.
Was a really fun game, but Germany continues to disappoint. What's wrong with their forwards and why can't they score? Also, Kroos is hard carrying the midfield. Meanwhile, I can see how Kimmich is insanely good and Hummels, despite the unlucky own goal, really put on an amazing performance. I feel like Müller is having some difficulty re-integrating into the team. Ironically, he's one of the top ten scorers for Germany, yet he's seriously terrible at basically everything. The only thing he's got going for him is that he has a good head and knows where to be at what time and is always open to help the team.
It's a real shame that France won thanks to an own goal. It's also a bit weird that these two giants of ⚽ ended the game with only an own goal scored. I know Hummels is going to get absolutely chewed out by the media, but I think he put on an amazing performance and it's really just pure shit luck that his clearance ended up as an own goal.
All signs point to France winning the Euros. I will honestly be very (pleasantly) surprised if France doesn't win the Euros.
And while this has nothing to do with the Germany v. France game, I'm sick and tired of hearing about CR7 scoring. He is a constant rape-shaped stain on the sport and it leaves a terrible taste in my mouth.

Meanwhile, over in Copa America, Messi's free kick goal was not enough to save Argentina. I have no faith in Argentina and the best they can hope for is to make it past the first round of knockouts. So yeah...crossing fingers and hoping for the best at this point. I've made peace that Messi's not winning anything with this national team. I just hope he has a good showing and is able to enjoy as many games as possible.
