Whelp, I've still got over 10K words left to go, but World Cup started, so I guess I'm watching games now.

It amuses me how much the West is twisted up over themselves ranting about the ethics of Qatar as hosts but still not willing to give up the ludicrous monetary incentive of covering the World Cup anyway.

Hey, Western journalists, if you're so fucking pissed at Qatar and the terrible politics, how about just stop covering the World Cup? If you're going to keep broadcasting and covering the World Cup and pay Qatar for the privilege of having access to the event so you can make money publishing your articles, then you're not really condemning shit.

Don't fucking try to moralize when you aren't willing to take a financial hit to do the right thing.

Meanwhile, Qatar is getting their asses kicked by Ecuador. LOL. I feel like Qatar should be able to perform better than this, but y'know, clearly the big stage is getting to them. They're making Ecuador, historically one of the most physical teams in South America, look like dribbling kings.
