Web3 is a cyber apocalypse and I don't want it

Rather than reinvent the wheel and write up an essay about why Web3 is terrible and you should not buy into it, I'll just link to Dan Olson's easy to digest video essay:

It is because of this that I'm extremely skeptical of and disappointed with Vox's wishy-washy stance on Web3, which reads too much like "I don't know so let's wait and see". How someone can write Also, because Web3 is so new — and because the very concept of it rejects centralized control or management — right now, there’s very little in the way of consumer protection. None, basically. while simultaneously waffle about Web3's terrible anti-consumer B.S. is just mind boggling.

Web3 is a definitive bad. Philosophically, structurally, functionally. Just say no to Web3. If one day we're forced to adopt Web3 because some of some greedy technophiles, then I'm cutting off all ties with the internet and going into crazy hermit in the woods mode. Fuck society.
