Summarize America with a piece of media

So, New York Times opinion columnists have chipped in on their piece of media that truly captures America.
In my humble (but totally objective) opinion (and if you disagree, you're wrong, shut up), I think they're all missing the mark. The true capsule of America lies in Zack Snyder's Superman.
Superman has always and will always embody how America sees itself. In Zack Snyder's Superman, Superman is effectively the messiah, the man who is so superior to the rest of the world he is only ever going to be misunderstood, and he alone can right the wrongs, no matter how much damage and destruction he wreaks on the pathetic humans he watches over. And those pathetic humans will welcome him as their savior, or they will be written off as categorically evil.
Toxic American exceptionalism? Check.
Ignoring another country's sovereignty? Check.
Blatant hypocrisy? Check.
Fapping over the military industrial complex? Check.
Navel gazing persecution complex despite being an unstoppable superpower? Check.
Invasion of citizens' privacy in the name of "national security"? Check.
Disregard for habeas corpus? Check.
Extra-judicial execution? Check.
Hapless mainstream news that parrots foreign policy talking points back at their readership? Check.
I despise Zack Snyder's Superman, but it really does honestly capture exactly how America (and especially the American government) sees itself.
