Actually, synonymous in its entirety is dedicated to recording this scandal.
I'm...
OK, y'know what, I'm too old for this shit. But if OTW, an organization that is supposed to be progressive and wants to protect fans' rights to create stuff, can keep perpetuating the racist bullshit, well, is it any surprise USA elected Trump?
Sadly, Ao3 still one of the more comprehensive fanfic sites. Ugh. At least that kills any intent I have of ever putting fic there. Sticking to DW. (Yes, I know, every site has problems, I'm sure there's some stuff I don't know about DW, too. But at least DW doesn't try to present itself as some kind of bastion of progressiveness. DW's only promise to me is not to sell my info, and that's all I expect out of DW.)
https://squidgeworld.org/ - A clone of Ao3 that is unaffiliated with the OTW BS.
As I'm catching up on OTW scandal, this post and its comments are some of the most intellectually stimulating discussion I've seen from fandom in a long, long, long time. I'm also not surprised at seeing many familiar handles from LJ days that I used to follow.
Running a platform is like running a mini-country. Fandom wankery just reflects society wankery. Clearly, I prefer hermithood.
