Manually saving fics...again...

Apparently Wland is moving and the few fics I archived via the site have not been ported. And it doesn't look like those authors are going to be porting their old fics either.

This is...less than ideal.

So, before old Wland goes down permanently, time to manually copy-pasting fics.

Sadly, doesn't seem like there's an easy way to save Lofter fics, since Lofter script prevents select-copy. I'd have to hack the html and I'm just not up for that shit right now. =.= If anyone knows of an easy way to import html as txt, lemme know plskthx.

Actually there's a way to save stuff on lofter. Copy-paste from lofter works from your home page. So normally if I want to save a fic on lofter, I would hit the like button, then go to my home page and likes page, and then copy paste from there. Then optionally un-like the entry to prevent clutter.

Note that this does require you to have an account on lofter to work. I just use wechat to login.

Also note, this doesn't include the bits on lofter that's pay to read. Just the main part of the post.

Seems like it's an expense + structure thing. The old site's code can't handle the load anymore, plus was more expensive to maintain based on the announcement.

🤯 That is a pretty good work around. I'll have to go do that. *looks at bookmarked list* Maybe I'll do it over the course of a few days...
