除夕

cashew: Sumomo acting like Sumomo (Chobits // Sumomo)

It's technically Chinese New Year's Eve, 除夕(Chú Xī), in China right now so:

Also, much love that Tasting History did a Chinese New Year episode:

Although, I must add that there's nothing wrong with being a pig, because the pig is usually known as the Golden Pig(金猪)and Chinese parents prefer the year of the pig (second only to the year of the dragon, which...well, dragon) due to the association of pigs to treasure, so piggies are considered the luckiest of the zodiacs. The lazy association is actually not as strong in Chinese mythology.

Meanwhile, the dog is considered the most...um, common. *throws shade*

But! It is the year of the Ox, or cow, or bull, basically that grass grazing ungulate from which you get beef. And the Ox is considered the strongest of the Zodiacs, so may your year be filled with Ox-ness!(牛年牛气牛逼!)

Anyway. Happy Chinese New Year's Eve, y'all!
